The Adventures of Piggy and Woof: Moving House
Moving to a new house can be an exciting yet challenging experience for anyone, including our two furry friends, Piggy the pig and Woof the dog. Join Piggy and Woof on their incredible journey as they overcome obstacles, make new friends, and discover the true meaning of home.
The Decision to Move
It all started one sunny morning when Piggy and Woof's owners, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, informed them about the upcoming move. Piggy and Woof were initially confused and worried about leaving their cozy little house behind, which had been their home for years. However, the Johnsons assured them that the new house would be larger, with a beautiful garden for Piggy to roam and plenty of room for Woof to play fetch.
The Packing Adventure
Piggy and Woof watched in amazement as cardboard boxes began to fill every room of their home. The two curious friends couldn't resist jumping into the boxes, unaware that they were helping their owners pack their belongings. Piggy even found a feather duster and started sweeping the floor, causing laughter among the family.

As the moving day approached, Piggy and Woof's world slowly started to change. Furniture disappeared, and strange people entered their home, carrying heavy boxes. Piggy and Woof, sensing the tension in the air, tried to be a source of comfort for their owners, providing endless cuddles and kisses.
The Journey Begins
Finally, the long-awaited day arrived. Piggy and Woof were placed in their carriers, ready for an exciting adventure. Little did they know that this voyage would be filled with unexpected surprises. The Johnsons carefully secured the carriers in the moving truck and embarked on their new journey.
Piggy and Woof peered out of their carriers' windows, observing the changing landscape. Tall buildings transformed into open fields, and familiar streets became distant memories. The wind blew through Piggy's snout, and Woof couldn't help but wag his tail in excitement.
A New Neighborhood
Upon reaching their destination, Piggy and Woof were introduced to their new neighborhood. The smell of freshly-cut grass and the sound of chirping birds welcomed them. The Johnsons guided their furry friends into the house, which was filled with warmth and sunlight.
Piggy immediately noticed the spacious garden, with trees, flowers, and even a small pond. Woof, on the other hand, discovered a dog park nearby, eager to explore and make new furry friends. Both Piggy and Woof couldn't contain their excitement as they ran around their new home, exploring every nook and cranny.
Unlikely Friends
One day, while Piggy was enjoying a sunbath in the garden, he noticed a little squirrel, named Nutty, hopping over the fence. Piggy introduced himself, and the two quickly became friends. Piggy showed Nutty around the garden, and Nutty taught Piggy how to climb trees.
Meanwhile, Woof met Charlie, a friendly golden retriever who lived nearby. The two dogs hit it off immediately, chasing each other and playing fetch for hours. Charlie introduced Woof to his dog friends in the neighborhood, creating a doggy social club that would meet regularly at the park.
The True Meaning of Home
As Piggy and Woof settled into their new house, they realized that it wasn't the physical structure that made it a home. It was the love, warmth, and friendships they cultivated along the way. Piggy and Woof had discovered the true meaning of home was not a place but a feeling of belonging.
The adventures of Piggy and Woof will continue in their new home, exploring new places, making new friends, and cherishing the memories of their old house. Through their journey, they taught us that change can be an opportunity for growth and that the true adventure lies in the bonds we create along the way.
The adventures of Piggy and Woof moving house not only highlight the challenges of moving but also emphasize the importance of embracing change and finding comfort in new surroundings. Piggy and Woof's journey is a reminder that true happiness lies in the relationships we build, and that home is ultimately wherever love resides.

‘Piggy and Woof Move House’ is the first story in a new and exciting series of children’s books, by Anne Middleton, for ages 4-7. ‘The Adventures of Piggy and Woof’ are inspired by Anne’s daughter’s experiences as Daddy joined the army to become an Army Chaplain. Although the stories come out of family life in the army, they address issues that many children have to face – moving house, starting a new school, a parent going away – as they encounter the epic adventure of life.
Anne is very aware of just how difficult life can be for children. With so many things out of their control they can feel overwhelmed and powerless. Hence, she has drawn on many years of professional experience of theatre and therapy to create a series of books to get alongside children where they are, whilst giving them an opportunity for escape. In the stories Grace turns to Piggy and Woof for comfort and they go on their own parallel adventure, expressing her hopes and fears, her joys and sadness as she comes to terms with her real life situation.
