While exploring Casona's life, one cannot escape the immense patriotism that fueled his every action. His unwavering loyalty to his homeland and his countrymen propelled him to join the Republican cause during the Spanish Civil War, fighting against the oppressive regime of Francisco Franco.

As an esteemed intellectual, Casona utilized his pen to unite his people and give voice to the suffering and aspirations of the Spanish population. His plays served as a powerful medium for conveying social and political messages, defying censorship and inspiring hope amongst his compatriots.

As Franco's forces gained control of the country, Casona, an outspoken dissenter, found himself in imminent danger. Faced with persecution and the threat of execution, he made the heart-wrenching decision to flee his beloved Spain.

Escaping across the treacherous Pyrenees mountains, Casona embarked on a perilous journey into exile, leaving behind his cherished homeland and his dreams of artistic expression. This forced displacement deeply impacted him and forever transformed his perspective on life, filling his future works with themes of loss, longing, and the enduring pursuit of freedom.

Am I BRITISH, OR AM I AN AMERICAN. During the American Revolution, every Colonist had to decide. No one was spared; everyone was affected by the war.
Follow Joe as he joins the Continental Navy and helped in the creation of a new country.
He took part in some of the most memorable naval battles of the war. Joe was with the Marines when they captured Nassau and with John Paul Jones, when he shouted “I HAVE NOT YET BEGUN TO FIGHT.” Joining Washington, in Yorktown, when the British surrendered. Lafayette made him his aide during the peace talks in France.
Since the written accounts of some naval encounters are vague, this is my interpretation of the events.
THINGS COULD HAVE HAPPENED THIS WAY.
This story is written to honor all the unknown naval heroes of the American Revolution.
