Alex’s parents give him tools for his birthday (he’s preteen) and he decides he wants to build a robot with them. His parents take him to the library and find Alex’s Robot on the shelves. Alex’s Robot is a book they had written years before and then forgotten. Alex reads the book and then decides to build the robot, in secret—it works!--which is when the problems (and fun) really start.
This is a funny, loving story about a young boy and his family. The family is real and recognizable because, in many ways, it is my family. Even the robot has a recognizable personality! I wrote this story many years ago for my son who is named--that’s right--“Alex”, and who loves this story. I hope that you and your children love this story as much as the three of us do.
